Joanne Tokaryk ARAD, AISTD(Dip.)
Joanne received her professional training with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Professional division and was fortunate to study with world-renowned teachers. She performed with Alberta Ballet, Graz Opernhaus Ballet and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens as well as the Nutcracker tour with RWB. In 1983 she developed The Dance Centre to offer classes for all ages and disciplines. For the past 25 years she has shared her passion for dance teaching thousands of students some who have attained professional careers as dancers or teachers. Joanne has received numerous choreographic awards and many students have been awarded scholarships and awards through the years. She holds the Advanced RAD ballet certificate as well as the ISTD Associate and Associate Diploma. She is currently continuing to attain qualifications to become an ISTD ballet examiner. Her continuous love of dance inspires all students to enjoy the wonderful world of dance. |

Rebekah Jones AISTD
Rebekah is a triple threat performer and teacher having been trained in ballet, jazz, tap, and musical theatre, modern and character from a young age. She has appeared in Rainbow Stage, as well as venues around North America (Ottawa, Banff, South Carolina, and Disney World. She has choreographed musicals including Anne of Green Gables, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Seussical the Musical, and the upcoming production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. A graduate of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet's Teacher Training Program, Rebekah enjoys teaching children of all ages and looks forward to another year at The Dance Centre. |

Katelyn Pemoeller
Katelyn has been with The Dance Centre for sixteen years. She has achieved the ISTD Advanced 2 Ballet exam and has won many awards and scholarships throughout her continuing dance career. For the past four years she has been, training at EDGE Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles. She will be attending, on scholarship, classes at the Randolph Academy of Performing Arts, Toronto and in 2010 will be apprentice with Extreme Dance Convention. Katelyn has been teaching for 6 years and is excited to share her passion for choreography again this year. |

Alexandra Winters
Alex’s love of dance started long before she began formal training. She has been with The Dance Centre for fifteen years as a student, assistant and now as a teacher. Throughout her student years, she was awarded three Manitoba Provincial Dance Festival scholarships in Ballet and Lyrical and has attained the ISTD Advanced 2 ballet exam. She has continued to develop as a teacher and choreographer sharing her experience with students of all ages. Presently, Alex is also completing her Education Degree at the University of Winnipeg. |

Kasmira Sobkow
Kasmira grew up at the Dance Centre first beginning Preschool ballet with her mother and won the Provincial Dance Festival ballet scholarship at 6 years of age. For the past 25 the years she has trained in ballet, jazz lyrical and hip hop. She has trained with and assisted at the EDGE Performing Arts Centre and performed with Carnival, “Shall We Dance”, TV commercials and other performances. She was one of the first choreographers to introduce Hip Hop in Winnipeg and set the standard for other teachers and choreographers to follow. Her choreography in Lyrical and Hip Hop has won many awards locally and internationally. Her passion for dance continues even though she is on leave while she pursues her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, at University of Laverne in Los Angeles. |

Alycia Modrzejewski
Alycia teaches Jazz, Tap, TBJ and Video Hits at the Dance Centre. She has completed Jazz and Tap exams in the ADAPT syllabus as well as Ballet exams in the Cecchetti syllabus. Her choreography has been well received at both the Mantioba Dance Festival and Canadian National Dance Championships. She attends conventions and workshops to keep her work current and most recently trained at Edge School of Performing Arts in LA. Alycia's love of her Ukrainian culture is another passion in her life. With the Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble she has performed internationally. As a Ukrainian dance instructor Alycia is working toward completing the Shymka Dance Syllabus. Alycia is looking forward to a great year at The Dance Centre. |

Rebecca Martin
Rebecca has been dancing and has been involved in competitive gymnastics for almost her entire life. She attained the Grade 8 RAD ballet certificate and continues to take jazz and hip hop. Rebecca believes dance captures beauty and imagination, power and strength of athleticism and love and joy of the human spirit. She is pleased to be teaching Lyrical, Hip Hop and Stretch and Strength this year. |

Rachel Corrin
Rachel has more than 20 years of performance experience. She has studied dancing, singing, acting, film, radio and modeling and has won numerous competitions across Manitoba and the United States. She has appeared live on stage in Winnipeg, New York, and Orlando Florida .She has performed in radio advertisements, choreographed fashion shows and directed musicals and plays for students ages 2-80! She recently travelled to Africa to choreograph the opening ceremonies for the 2010 Fifa World Cup. Through acting, singing and movement, children learn how to express themselves creatively. Rachel’s goal is to develop a positive environment, with enough structure so that children feel safe and enough whimsy to make movement and the performing arts lots of fun. |

Sarah Daurie
Sarah Daurie is a professional dancer, singer, and actress. She has performed starring roles in Mamma Mia!, The Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, and Anne of Green Gables. Some of her other credits include Chicago, Guys and Dolls, Damn Yankees, Brigadoon and Little Shop of Horrors. Sarah began her dance training in Winnipeg, MB, and has attained the advance levels in the R.A.D ballet, the A.D.A.P.T jazz and tap, and the C.D.T.A tap syllabi. In her training years she received full scholarships to study with R.A.D. examiners, professional dance companies and major choreographers in L.A. During her time in L.A Sarah was chosen to assist with the choreography on the soap opera Days of our Lives and was a featured dancer in the film Conflicting Emotions. For the past 10 years Sarah has been focusing on the educational side of dance, entering students successfully into exams and competitions across Canada and the US. Sarah is an award winning choreographer, and has conducted workshops and adjudicated festivals across the country. Sarah has an unrivaled passion for dance that is complemented by a sound knowledge of technique and performance. |
